Tracy Dowdell, Educational Coordinator
Ms. Tracy Dowdell serves as the Education Coordinator in the G-CAPP Carrera Program. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and will receive her Master’s Degree in Education in December, 2008. She recently moved from New York area where she taught at the New York City Board of Education for the Metropolitan Corporate Academy. She later transitioned to the Spence School as the History Teacher. Her duties include providing instruction in U.S. History and World Religion to 9th and 10th grade students and she developed innovative projects and curriculum to encourage educational discourse among her students. She relocated to the Atlanta area in 2006’ and began working at the Kipp South Fulton County Academy as the Reading and Language Arts Teacher. At Kipp Academy 99% of her 6th graders passed the CRCT Test in reading and 97% of her students passed the CRCT Test in Language Arts. Ms. Dowdell believes in creating a student-centered environment where her students take the lead and share ideas in a variety of ways. She enjoys challenging her students and building a strong rapport with them, inside and outside of the classroom.
