The Atlanta Charter Middle School a long-term substitute opening for a performing arts teacher. The position involves teaching performing arts classes to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. This position is part-time but can potentially be full-time with additional responsibilities at the school.
Candidates should possess a willingness to collaborate with other teachers and a desire to develop engaging learning experiences that emphasize depth of thinking rather than breadth of coverage and that ask students to demonstrate mastery on the performance of meaningful tasks. Qualifications include: Georgia educator certification and/or the completion of a teacher preparation program is strongly preferred; teaching experience is also strongly preferred; experience working with kids; a degree in theatre/performing arts or a comparable discipline. Salary is commensurate with experience at the long-term substitute rate.
